Does DL still have -900 options from their order of 40 for 9E back in 2012?
Thought it was 40 orders and 30 options.

They will replace the 19 700s. Those will go to ASA and operate out of east coast to replace 200s

This means Delta has to take delivery of 5 more mainline narrow-body aircraft to operate the last 4 RJs.

I do not think that these have anything to do with the RP law suit. I am more interested in where these birds are going to be based... CP just opened SEA on the 175.
Does that count the four 900s that SkyWest just converted from US Airways to Delta?

..and Republic's deal to put nine more 170s into service for Delta is likely in serious trouble...so there's one way of arriving at 19.

Yes. Skywest has 200 or so 175's on order, based on getting contracts to fly them.

Pilots are always talking about opening up DTW. I'm not sure how it would be staffed without shrinking MSP by quite a bit. It'd be a shame too, since Compass just closed it's DTW domicile causing lots of it's pilots to commute to the West Coast. Meanwhile Skywest guys commute to the east. But, having Compass back in DTW and Skw continue to operate out west, would make too much sense to Delta. Gotta keep us regionals in check by constantly moving the flying around.

That 4 would make 30.
4 used CRJ-900s SKY
+ 7 used CRJ-900s GJT
+19 new E175s SKY
=30 remaining large RJs in Delta's Scope

As for these being "replacement" aircraft: they may be trading out one fleet at SKY for another at ASA but, these are additional aircraft when considering the size of the DCI fleet (regardless who operates them)

I'm not sure how far along Delta is in the 50 seat draw down, but if they're maxing out at 325 large RJ's, that only allows for 125 fiddys. According to DALs last 10-Q filing, they're operating 170 at the moment.
I don't know how many of the 170 are already slated to be parked.

Delta was over their JV limit and they continued to operate outside of the contract so in the end does it really matter what their scope says? This might be good news for Skywest but more RJ's operated by a contractor is bad in general for pilots and the industry.
