Apologies.
I misunderstood what I was told, then.
Perhaps you can explain why I was told there were no scheduled new-hire 175 classes after March 3?
Re: new-hires in the 175...this much is true (I believe)...one could very well rise in seniority enough to finally come off reserve, only to get bumped back down into reserve status as more senior pilots transition into the plane.
Like I said, the folks I interviewed with (very nice, btw) were selling the CRJ really hard when they offered me a class date.

Why is it that the 10% of the SKW pilot group who are total DBs make it a personal mission to post on APC??
I've gotten not 1 but 3 separate PM's from SKW guys apologizing for the 10%ers here in as many days.
Way to represent to a potential new hire who also has an offer from Compass and hasn't made up his mind, Word.
Geez.

So they lied to me!
Well, they were pushing the CRJ pretty hard. (shrug)
Potential new-hires be advised...
If you do go into the 175, just know much more senior pilots want into that aircraft, and as they transition in your seniority will continually be pushed down over time. This has big implications for upgrade later on.
That part they weren't lying to me about, I feel certain.

To compound the problem, we're short on CRJ FOs as well and don't want to allow those with a transition bids in to go to class. They've already bypassed some with bids in. This is one of the reasons recruiting is probably pushing the CRJ right now.
As a more practical point for those choosing aircraft, you'll probably fly a lot more, and make a lot more money on the CRJ for the first year or two. Additionally, getting other domiciles will be possible much sooner on the CRJ. If they ever start letting people transition it will take a really long time to get out of ORD on the 175. As it is right now ORD is way over staffed, tons of reserve lines that get very little flying and seldom break guarantee, and regular lines built to 75 hours. Meanwhile on the CRJ everyone complains about working 90+.

But the 175 is soooo shiny! And...autothrottles! Under-wing engines! Besides, money and QOL are nothing compared the respect and admiration people have for 175 drivers!
Then again, seeing 175 dudes posting pics from the beach as they sit endless long-call reserve, while I commute to multi-day blocks of stand ups gets a little old.
