FLL base

I know there are rumors of a Fort Lauderdale base. Anything more concrete?? I know how aviation is with rumors so curious. As a florida resident, having options for MCO and FLL would be huge.
Thanks

New international terminal opens in FLL in a few months, we'll see what happens after that. Nothing concrete has been announced anywhere yet. They have recently started adding more pilots to both MCO and BWI, maybe that is partially to cover additional FLL flying without adding a new base. Nobody is telling the pilots anything to this point which isn't a surprise.

I was in FLL last week and the Ops agent said the new FLL flights this year will be crewed by MCO based pilots. She said there will be 5 new MCO-FLL flights starting in a few months. If you go to Southwest.com you can verify this to be true. Who knows what the future holds?

STL, FLL, or LAX seem to be the cities in the running for the next crew base right now.

My money is on STL.
