It can depend a lot on the base too. I'm Dallas based. I just finished a 4 day reserve block on which they assigned me a HOU trip. DH to HOU, 2 legs (10 TPS)
Day 2, 3 legs (6.4), Day 3, 2 legs (6.74), Day 4 1 leg and DH to DAL. Total pay, 29.15 trips.

Last week, Did 3 days of Reserve. Not used on Day 1. then 2 day trip. DH and 1 leg, 2nd day 2 legs.

Before that, it varied between 2-4 legs a day.

Some stations can do them, even with an ocho.

Others? well, some stations are just downright embarrassing.

I had four 35 min turns and a 30 min turn on my last three-day trip.

F.O.
Half way up the list in mdw(3 1/2 years).
824 block per year, although waning as wife has landed job at a regional and will advance fast).
This question is loaded because of ELITT (best thing since sliced bread).
I work as much or as little as i want, when i want and where i want.
And for the rj peeps. My 2nd-3rd year pay at swa was 175k, (no NOT including per diem&#128580(without batting much of an eye lash, either).

just curious if getting extended amounts of days off in a row is a possibility with your guys' system. I come from a PBS system/other system where getting 7-10 days off straight every month was easy to get after 2-3 years seniority.

sounds like you guys get a lot of days off in general per month but usually in blocks of max 3-4 days off as a time... is this the case? does the system allow you to change things up? thx!

Yes there are a lot of lines with big blocks off, furthermore even if you can’t get that line you can elitt usually to most of what you want. We probably have the best flexibility in the industry imo.

You can do it as a new hire on reserve once you learn the system. With line improvement and trading/give away there is a lot of flexibility. My first year was last year. I worked the first six days in August, and was off from 12/24-1/2 and Thanksgiving week with trading and dropping.

Currently, with 2-3 years seniority, getting 8-9 days off in a row is no problem at all.
That’s just normal bidding. With vacation you can parlay that into a huge chunk. I have vacation next month (one week) and I am off from the 4th to the 23rd.
With PBS, the system could have bookended my vacation with flying days and I would have had 7 days off in a row instead of 20.

Next month I bid a line with 10 days off in a row. That doesn’t factor in trading or giving away trips. I’ll also have 4-5 weeks off in September/October for vacation. I’m not yet at two years.
