SEA PDX base

It seems like this is the only area in the US that SWA does not have a base. Have there or are there any rumors of a domicile up here?

Seems like Alaska dominates that region, and with Delta there not much means to success.

SEA is pretty saturated. I think there's probably room for growth in PDX.

I would have said PAE, but Alaska is doing that starting in Q3'18.

SEA PDX base

It'd be nice if SWA would Re-explore BFI. With the ever increasing demand for gates at SEA in the AS and DL dispute, It might make sense for SWA to propose operating out of BFI again to help alleviate the high demand at SEA.

Politics. Local govt isn't going to do anything to hurt Alaska and Delta.

When creating a domicile, the main factor is how many aircraft overnight there. None of our PNW bases have enough planes overnighting to really qualify.
I know the PNW sucks for commuters at SWA. It's one of the main reasons I have not moved back there.
BFI was a diversion to get what we wanted at SEA. It worked.
The real money to be made in Seattle lies in the underserved north side. Alaska is going to kill it out of PAE. Those who live on the north side of Seattle have a few bad choices when they fly. A potentially two hour drive and $25/day parking, catch the bus and light rail down, or try to go up to Bellingham. All of those suck. Paine is in a perfect location to capture a lot of business flying.
