Yeah, I could have been a whole lot more impressed with CA's trade-in allowance. So I've just kept the Pro as a backup. To me, the best improvements with the Pro Plus are it's durability, and vastly superior microphone. I always felt the mic 'sweet spot' on the Pro was too tiny and it had to be positioned just so, or it would affect my transmissions. The increased ruggedness of the Pro Plus makes it ever so slightly less comfortable than the Pro, but still perfectly suited for a transcon. Your melon may vary...

Resurrecting an old thread here...

I read somewhere about a $1k headset reimbursement for new hires. In this thread I'm reading about a company-issued headset.

Are new hires reimbursed $1k for a headset or is one issued?

Thanks.

Both. New hires can get an issued Telex if they want and they can get up to a one-time $1k reimbursement if they buy their own headset. (Buy an $800 headset you only get $800. One time deal meaning that if you only spend $800, the other $200 does not carry over for future use)

They’re no longer handing out headsets, which is why they’re doing the one time reimbursement.

Maybe they are handing them out until the stock is gone, but a good friend of mine in training was issued a Telex two days ago and so did the rest of his class.

So can I sell this stupid telex on ebay or what?

for the new hires lurking: don't do this. it's a joke. mostly.

Not accurate. If you spend $800 they still send you $1000. It’s a $1000 benefit not one that changes base on cost of the goods.

That's not accurate. The CBA is very clear that it's a "reimbursement of up to one thousand dollars," not a stipend.

This just shows what an idiot you are.

“That’s not how this works. That’s not how any of this works”.
