I'm going bonkers watching my pilotcredentials-linked email account.

Good luck to all on the last window!

CaptYoda 01-09-2018 12:02 PM

Does anyone know approximately how many invites go out on average once the window closes?

Lol, same, and I don’t even have 1000tpic.

Re-check the questionnaire occasionally. I didn't immediately notice when they reset questions 3 and 4 late last year so if you had something in there, it might be blank now which would look really bad.

CaptYoda 01-09-2018 03:33 PM

For those getting the invite, stats and background would be great including if you have a B737 type.

I could be wrong, but I'm thinking no one in this thread has been called after this most recent window. Thinking the guys talking about interview dates were from last window.

Then I am wrong :)

Congrats and good luck! Just hit a year today (year 2 pay started January 1).

Only negative here is the upgrade time .... which should change given the converting Max8 options to firm and moving them up, the hiring of another 900 pilots, and the company name buying any 709/800 they can get their hand on. Currently have about 705 planes, goal is 1200.
I
Other than that, you'll make more money here per day than flying 757 or below at UAL or DAL. And I haven't flown with a jerk yet.

Quicker upgrade than where I am now (at least if I want to upgrade in base).

Dude, please tell me this is not the typical applicant. I am hosed

:)

slimothy 01-12-2018 11:58 AM

Any gouge on the recency of LORs? I've got a few from Oct 2014, I received the invite with them as is, should I have them updated prior to interview?

It's not that strong of a resume. He's got no shuttle commander time.

Yah, but he does have time walking on the moon. Could not figure out how to log the time, though.

I threw in every letter I ever got that still had value and a good phone number. I was never questioned.

Bumping....anyone else?

dblbubble rider 01-16-2018 10:20 AM

Hey guys/gals I have a couple of questions for the SWA recruitment team. Anyone knows who do I email?

Talked with a reliable source who heard straight from the one who makes the decisions -- as of yesterday, no one has been notified from the last application window. They are still going through the list from the previous window.

Thanks, that does settle the nerves a little.

luvflying 01-16-2018 04:18 PM

I did hear they received over 4,500 applications during the last window and hiring 700+ this year (or more depending on the training center capabilities).

Good luck to all!

Massive "pilot shortage" out there! :D

It was over 10,000 apps a few years ago....

That’s right. And there has been a bunch of hiring the last 3 years. If you look at all the threads, there were 10,000 apps with each of the majors. Suspected most of them were duplicates.

After a bunch of hiring, the apps stack reduced. Someone said it was down to 7,000. Someone else corrected them and said it was 18,000. Someone else said it was 25,000. — probably lots and lots more.

(There are 20,000 RJ Pilots, 10% lifers as a rule of thumb, and a bunch of FO not qualified yet. So I doubt the 18,000 and the 25,000 numbers of unique, qualified applicants — even considering commercial and military.)

The last ‘realistic’ rumor I have heard here was 3,000.

Anyone have relatively current number of apps on file with any of the majors?

pilot100 01-20-2018 02:54 PM

Any more info about when 1st round selection from this application window will be made

luvflying 01-21-2018 04:43 AM

I have a friend who applied at the Jan 2nd window closing. He received notification last week of the interview invite and is interviewing next month.

My understanding is that if your status in ICIMS is "Closed Complete", they have reviewed your info and are not receiving an invite this time around.

Keep the faith if you are still waiting! It's well worth the pursuit.

So that’s what happened to mine. I couldn’t believe I submitted an incomplete form.
I’ve probably blown any chance for this window, but, will I see anything on the pilot credentials web site if my application has been looked at?

So "Submission Received" is a good sign? Please say yes.

MartyMoose 01-21-2018 10:37 AM

Mine says “submission received”. Still no call. Same thing during the previous window.

Closed complete isn't the kiss of death either, FYI. I was invited to interview after I had a closed complete on my iCims. Hang in there. Your time will come.

at6d 01-21-2018 11:58 PM

As long as you don’t have a TBNT email, you have a chance.

flysooner9 01-22-2018 06:45 AM

4,000 applications will disappear fast with delta hiring 1,000 AA around 800, United at least 600, don’t even know about Fedex and ups. Probably at least 500 each.

Still showing "active" on pilot credentials, and "received submission" on ICIMS. I guess that means I still have a chance?

I hope they don't test me for reading comprehension

I applied over the Christmas window and just got the email to interview yesterday...I noticed someone earlier had received an invite, so they are working through the apps, hang in there!
