New hire details and show times?

Getting a bit nervous and wondering if a new hire can shed some light and calm my nerves:

When do the details regarding showtime, when and where arrive?

I’m 3 weeks from my class date, already given my resignation notice to my current employer, packed up and moved out of one house to prepare for the pay cut....when should I expect to hear something?

I didn’t want to bug the people department so thought I’d ask here first....

Thanks,

Unless things have changed in the last couple months, the first event is a welcome dinner Monday night then class begins Tuesday morning, sorta. Spouses are included on Tuesday.

I start next week and just got the welcome emails and links to fill out paperwork etc last week. I also bumped up a class so I might have compressed just a little bit.

Thanks...that answered my question. I’m in the same boat - bumped up a class. So I’ll expect to hear something 2weeks out....

Thanks guys.

Yeah give or take a few days I think. I received my welcome email on Friday and my on-boarding email showed up Sunday. I was bumped up a class in Thursday.

Thanks for the quick response and congratulations on starting next week.

Don’t be shy about contacting them. You are hired now and they are happy to give you information. I told the CP that I could start on Tuesday...it was Wednesday when he called. He laughed and said he loved my enthusiasm and would let scheduling know. Low and behold a class spot opened up the Tuesday after that. So I had less than two weeks notice. The next week I emailed the lady and she gave me all the information.

Welcome to SWA!!

This.

You have a life too, don’t be annoying, but if you’re stressed about this, give em a call or email them.

They’re not the soup nazi.

Maybe if you were hired by that outfit in Atlanta things would be different, but hey, this is Southwest. We love you already!

For anyone else following:

As stated, after a quiet period, information begins flowing in about 2 weeks prior.

Thanks again for the responses.

Can anyone PM me the number to who they called to move up their class dates?

Thanks!

Sorry, I don’t have a number. A remember Being asked at the interview about the amount of time needed for notice; my response was noted. Again, when I was offered the position by one of the chief pilots, he asked. When class dates options came, I accepted and replied that I would take an earlier offer. I was told I was on standby for three earlier classes.

Same here. I’m on “standby” for the earlier classes but i was wondering where that stood. I haven’t heard anything from anyone since I got the call from the chief pilot back in mid December. Hoping that they didn’t forget about me! :)

Thanks for the help!

I was originally scheduled for 2-20 class. I was moved to 2-6 last week.
