Regional
What regional does Southwest usually pull from?
|
SkyWest is the most common regional. Also a lot of Expressjet. Also, US........never mind.
|
Yes, skywest. Formal flow through if you have a Brasilia type.
|
So Skywest is a good one. Is there really a flow?

I live in the Baltimore/Washington area. The regionals that are non commutable are PSA, Republic, Trans States AMS Air Wisconsin....how about those?

I don’t know if it is a recent phenomenon but according to the Teamsters in the first 11 months of 2017 Southwest hired 60 Republic pilots; 58 Captains and 2 FO’s. Republic’s second highest alumni club went to Spirit with 36 in the same time period, followed by Jet Blue with 34 and then Delta with 33. It fell off pretty quickly after that with Atlas hiring 22, Fedex 13, and American & Allegiant each with 11. United only took 5, which is a huge change from days gone by.
Maybe it was just a good year for the Republic alums, but that has to give Republic a pretty high share of Southwest’s 121 hires last year. Keep in mind, they do not have a flow or guaranteed interview with any major. |
I don’t think it really matters that much. My class had people from Republic, both sides of Express Jet, SkyWest, Gojet, and Trans States.

We hired over 600 last year I think.
