Next window?

Hi, I missed the Aug 31 window. Anyone heard of the next?

SrfNFly227 09-21-2018 06:52 AM

Windows seemed to be running every 3 months for the last year. This latest window was only 2 months after the previous though. Given that history, I would guess a new one will open late October or some time in November.

That's what I expected, but was just told from an inside source that the rumored November Career Expo is going to be postponed until February. Classes are already filled into 2019.

This is correct. Next job expo is planned for Feb 16 and the next window will open Feb 17-Mar 20th. Hiring to slow down during the first 4 months of 2019 to make room in the training schedule for ETOPS and 420 upgrades within the first 6 months.

...and the 700 new FO’s.

holygrail 09-28-2018 10:21 PM

Never been to a career expo.....
Could someone please explain how they work.
When is the next one?
Do they interview on the spot?

Westerner 09-29-2018 06:24 AM

I had my app to this window changed to "closed complete." Previous windows show "received submission." Anyone else have them update this window?
I'm hoping I finally made it by the computer to have them look at my app.

Same here...

Keeping fingers crossed!!

Lostboys97 09-29-2018 10:35 AM

Hate to be the bearer of disappointment, but “closed complete” is not a good sign so soon of an app window. Sorry.

Not sure when the next one will be. They do not interview on site. It’s a ‘get to see you’ event. An overview of the company is presented. Hiring plans, possible growth plans, company history. Then they do a resume and pilot credentials review one-on-one with someone. It’s a great event to visit Dallas and meet some people involved in the recruitment process.

Should one apply to every open window?

Or apply to a future window only if you get a TBNT for a prior window?

Thanks.

At the June Expo it was very clearly stated to apply to each and every window to show continued "interest" in the company.

Apply to every window.

Key with southwest I believe is to apply to every window and then update every time you fly. It’s not hard and only takes a second but worth it

Smooth at FL450 10-04-2018 06:57 AM

Apply to every window and DON't delete your old applications. You never know which one will trigger the invite. Just leave them alone, let the system clear out the apps no longer under consideration when it's ready.

Dose anyone think the next window may open early?

I don't have any info about the window and can be completely wrong, but I heard we have classes filled up all the way to April. So far only 1 class a month after December is planned. I think the training center is going to focus on ETOPS and upgrades. It looks like new hire training is put on the back burner in the first quarter of the next year. That may delay the application window. As I said, I may be wrong and the window opens tomorrow.

How many days are they planning on spending for ETOPS class?

Advertised as a three day training footprint for ETOPS at the school house.

Nope. Next window opens Feb 17. Expect to hear about a Feb 16th in-house expo held in Dallas. Update frequently, take this time to comb over your application and have someone else do the same, and enjoy the holidays!

skythian 11-08-2018 09:13 AM

Are they still sending invites to people from the last window?

BarrySeal 11-10-2018 06:25 PM

How about the next window after Feb 2019. I am a year from Availability/Separation at May 2019.

Thank you

There are 3-4 windows per year, typically. You'll have plenty of opportunities...but you should still apply to every window that opens.

No more interviews in 2018. Expect interviews to start sometime in 2019. Classes are full through April.
