TO Performance calculation

do you use the OPT and if not who's doing the TO DATA? thanks

We enter data into PWB via ACARS. The data is uploaded to an automated system and the performance numbers are sent back to us, all through ACARS. This can also be done through the EFB (iPad) through wifi, as a back up.

Thanks and I'm guessing the AOs send the data ... and the pilots line-select the Vspeeds. How about DTO and/or Assumed Temp?

The TO and landing performance data is done by AeroData. If Acars works you send request and receive within short period of time your performance data (all depends on Acars speed). Then you can load it with 1 push of a button and accept (confirm) with another. (Just TO performance, landing speeds are loaded manually). Very quick and simple. If you don't have Acars you can use an app on your Ipad provided there is internet connection. It's equally straight forward except you have to manually enter the data in the FMC. The old OPCs are gone some 2 years already.

I agree ... the flexibility of an onboard performance tool is unique! But I guess they do not trust pilots anymore doing their own TO/LND data! lol

No, the lawyers want an archived set of data so that they can hang the pilots with it if the sh1+ hits the fan.
Liability minimization.

I’m glad the OPC is gone, as is my shoulder!

I have no idea what an "OPT", "AO" or "DTO" is - and I've been with SWA for 27 years.

News flash - your acronyms are not universal.

And we “roll” or “dial in” V2. Just saying.
