Really? Is that why? But you didn't work those flights? You guys are suing for work you could have done but didn't? Seems like a stretch... who do you sue when a storm hits the Northeast? How about when SWA computers go down?
I mean, I get that your guys BLGs are down, but doesn't that mean less work for less money?

The suit is for lost compensation. Period dot. Over 30k flights worth.
The company is seeking compensation for the same reason. The company says they may share the settlement with the employees. I think SWAPAs position is that you cannot take that promise to the bank so they are seeking to ensure their share of the pie.
Whether you agree with it or not, it’s what a union should be doing in order to serve its pilots.

Most employees make the same money regardless of block hours; they are salary or they still clock in and clock out.
Potential flight crew earnings Is dependent on block hours. When block hours go down earnings potential is affected. When it’s due to possible neglect or gross mismanagement, there needs to be recompense.
The company has said they will share recompense with employees, but those directly affected by lost block hours should receive an additional premium.
That’s why.

Is there anywhere that says SWAPA will distribute any funds to the pilots? If they do, after they deduct legal expenses, dues they would’ve gotten from said money, what will be left? And if there is any left, are they going to double dip and take dues money out of the settlement checks after they already took dues money out from the money they get from the lawsuit?
