Is this a tactic to get Boeing and SWA to allocate a certain amount of Boeing’s SWA settlement to the pilots?

Has to be, if this works everyone will sue GM when their car breaks and they miss work.
Boeing does have exposure though if they knowingly pencil whipped the MCAS certification.

I don’t think so. The CEO already stated he will disburse a Boeing settlement to all employees like our profit-sharing. As in our profit-sharing will knowingly be down due to the groundings.

This appears to be an ask for damages due to lost wages. AFAIK, the non-flyers haven’t seen wages decrease due to groundings. But with an avg 150 flights a day cnx’d, that’s a lot of TFP not flown/earned by the pilots. Hence, damages to the flight crews’ wages.
