I'm fairly Jr so if the button is hit I will be flushed out the bottom. A wise person would work as much as possible until they can't. I'm not wise, I'll probably be taking a few years off. Could be a bad decision but I have virtually no debt and can survive for a time on my savings. This offer coincided with the loss of a dear friend and it has really made me reevaluate my life.

I will be bidding for some time off. Like everyone else at/near the bottom I am nervous for the future.

Life's too precious. I can't ever get lost time back. My first day off I will be firing up the motorcycle, deciding what direction to go and I won't be going home anytime soon. Yeah, I was never good at planning...

Best of luck to everyone. See you all on the other side of this.

Good luck brother! Crater Lake area is a great ride. We will do our best to keep the lights on.

Yeah, I’ve got nothing to fall back on job wise. 25% from the bottom so decided it was better to fill the savings account, pay down as much on the house as I can, and roll the dice on full pay. With grade school kids it’s not like I can just up and leave to do what I want (let’s get real, I’m not living in a RV and teaching kindergarten). Appreciate those who are punching out early or taking time off to snort coke and play with hookers though.

Planning on taking the 1 year ExTO.

My Goals
1. Spend time with the family
2. 100+ ski days
3. scratch golfer

cant believe SWA is being so generous. I’m a fairly junior FO and will take a financial hit doing this, but all I hear about is pilots dying early in retirement, so figure I will take advantage of the opportunity while I’m healthy.

I think it's a final nudge to the fence-sitters before the bid closes.

Hey at least no WARN letters have gone out yet...

Yup. It’s pretty obvious that they’re not seeing enough VSP/ExTO applicants as they need to meet the suppressed demand. It doesn’t take a genius to read between the lines.

That said, I’m taking an ExTO and for those that qualify for VSP, I think you’re absolutely crazy if you don’t take it. It’s not like you’re gonna be able to crush 150 TFP/month going forward. With all due respect, everyone’s situation is different but 192K a year to go away? Why can’t I be older?!

Exactly. I know I'm kind of glass half empty, but I think Dean is screwed. What are you going to do on your ExTO? Thanks for taking it by the way. I'm still waffling.
