And the Network guy said that after they whacked the September schedule we are over staffed by about 1500 pilots.

Bob said he hoped people would consider taking a one month ETO, or an ETO every other month or two - whatever we can afford. They'll offer ETOs every month through the end of the year.

I'm going to take one in Oct I think, and maybe Dec. Anything I can do to try and help us weather the storm.

I finally got 1 yr worth of bills in the savings acct. Only car payment should be paid off next month. I’m gonna keep squirreling away money and try to get 18 mos saved up before I think about taking any leave.

Smart man! That's what we did. No debt other than the mortgage. Plenty of money in the bank especially if we add furlough pay and vacation cash out. Now we have some breathing room for whatever they decide to do in 2021.

I hadn’t factored in furlough or vacation pay....I finally get the 3rd week when we bid this year too.

It's worth looking at. That's 3.5 months furlough pay (at 92TFP) for me, plus another 3 weeks of vacation at around 26 TFP each. So that's an extra $60,000 parting gift (plus $10,000 contribution to the 401K) if it should come to that.

Gary says we've got what, 24 months of liquidity (assuming no improvement in revenue). We've applied for a government loan to increase that further if needed. Gary says no furloughs or pay/benefit cuts at least through the end of 2020. He also said the next step would be coming to the unions for concessions prior to furlough.

Considering all the above, plus the 630 VSP takers, all the 1 year (or more) EXTO takers that won't be flying next summer, the summer ETO takers, the probability of CARES 2.0 that bails the airlines out again, the probability of a vaccine next year (if not sooner), and a summer 2021 that will likely be far busier than this one, and I just don't see how it would make sense to furlough next spring right before the busy summer season.

If for some reason this time next year we are still seeing massive parts of our economy still shut down, then I believe we have way more to worry about that just a furlough.

Just my $.02

Since we won’t furlough in 2020 I’ll make it through year 5 so will get the 3 months + 3 weeks VA if I get the axe next year. I’ve got roughly 2200 behind me.

Did I read the contract wrong? On six year pay, wed get 2.5 bidding periods at 95 TFP for furlough pay. Or you can take it at 50% for 5 bid periods. Is this correct?
