Eh.. I don't think they're bluffing. They want those green bars gone now that the govt isn't footing the bill, and I'm confident they would furlough to make it happen.
I'm still a no on a reduction to RATES of pay and with force majeur language in there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Pretty damn appalling really.
Sounds more like extortion than anything else. Plenty more options available that can be NEGOTIATED with SWAPA. Im furlough fodder and this would be a HELL NO for me. Had some serious respect for how the company was handling this mess, HAD. |
I would like to invite those pilots recommending concessions to my weekly poker game!

How many pilots do they want to get rid of? How much money are they trying to recoup? It's all a big mystery. I don't like to negotiate against myself. So what's their plan? 1000 furloughs? 3000 furloughs? 10% of the entirety of the pilot pay is a big number. How much are they proposing we buy with that money... because that's what they're suggesting. It's a transaction. 10% of your pay rates PLUS force majeur langue = ??? Some amorphous number of furloughs? No thanks. Let's hear some numbers. I think I'm furlough fodder too with 30+% below me. Let's hear their plan. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
WM- Please post this on the swapa forum if you haven't already. You make some great points.

Even if we do furlough we vote on a 5-10% assessment to take care of our fellow pilots AND MAINTAIN OUR CBA AS STATUS QUO! Do not give the Kompany an ax to start hacking away at our contract. Especially with the force majeure clause that they’re trying to sneak in there, I wouldn’t vote yes if they were trying to GIVE us a 10% raise. That alone is a potentially huge concession that we wouldn’t be able to claw back. I seriously hope there’s no one crazy enough to even entertain this if put out for a vote. Say it with me: THE CONCESSION STAND IS CLOSED!!! |
Don't worry

Force majeure statement is an automatic no for me.
The last two weeks of flying I have observed PHX, DEN, LAS, and other terminals full of passengers. Almost all of our flights were close or at covid full capacity, including on 800’s. i just finished a four day and even legs to ELP were full. If we vote to pass these concessions and a new bailout occurs, you can bet the company won’t back out of the present proposal. I think the company wouldn’t hesitate to use the force majeure clause beyond 2021. No. |
