SWA Commute
 

Quick question for you SWA folks. MyID is showing the red smiley face next to flights that I am looking to commute on. I requested them on staff traveler and someone responded to both flights saying they have over 100 seats open.

Would anyone happen to know why the difference? Are you guys blocking middle seats by any chance? Appreciate the help!

Those smiley faces are unreliable AF! I don't know where they pull their data from.

i think they pull them from historical data. I still find flights on swalife that project FULL when they have 30+ unsold seats; those are based on historic load data. I think myidtravel is the same.

I think it has to do with the way MyID’s system pulls the data (or doesn’t) from SW’s. I work for another airline and SW flights always show the red frowny face. There are other airlines that show the green smiley face even when oversold. I’ve found Staff Traveler to be a lot more helpful.

So today may be a two leg commute on you guys. When there’s an additional stop but no plane change is there anything different I need to do when checking in? It’s the same flight number just wasn’t sure if I need to get off in BNA and take my documents and re check in at the gate. Obviously it’ll be captain discretion if it’s a crew change as well.
