So that’s not what is going on here.
Management told pilot to get the vaccine this week. Guess what? Pilots actually went out and did it. As a result, a portion of our pilots can’t fly or pick up anything for a few days.
Add the ATC mess that stranded crews, dense schedules, Covid sick pulls, our admitted staffing challenges, and this is what you get. It’s not “whiny children” That’s ludicrous.

We didn’t have an OPs agent to drive the jetbridge for a long time. What’s their required wait time after the shot? People are tired of this crap, and I’m not just talking about flight crews or employees. Look across the nation. Police officers, nurses, doctors, ATC, teachers, you name it...... LETS GO BRANDON. The people in charge In DC will tank this airline if management lets them, and our management is not being driven by Herb anymore. Pretty sure Herb would have rooted for Brandon.
They are bypassing our CBA and union with regards to termination for something that is not law and not even an official order yet. Let that sink in for a minute.

From looking at sick and fatigue calls there is not an appreciable spike.
Fatigue is higher but the duty day increase has increased also. I’m sure that is correlated but would require more data to analyze.
Sick calls are a drop in the bucket, not appreciable to the volume of flights.
OT pickup is lower but by about 1/4. That could be long weekend, burnout, JA possibility on pick ups etc. I’m sure the data guys will break that down.
In light of any other information I would have to say this is mismanagement of the operation. No slack built into schedule and a minor disruption explodes. Since Spirit just went through this a few months back it reaffirms my belief. We shall see as more information is I am sure forthcoming.
On a side note the union and pilots better cross their fingers it’s not an illegal job action. GK will press the case if he has the ability too, he’s leaving so no better present to the Bob than crush the union on the way out the door.
