They should bring them to Dallas for a day, hang a badge around their neck. Do the rah rah stuff, put them on the payroll and send them home until March.

I think the 3+ month delay between offer and class is going to cost them a not insignificant number of newhires.

Every friend I’ve had with an option between us and elsewhere is going elsewhere. I can’t say I blame them.

You can gain enough seniority at FedEx to hold Captain there in the time you have to wait for a SWA class....

When did you apply?

Im curious the timeline compared to DAL, AA and UAL. I feel like it takes us way too long to get someone into class from when they first apply.

AA is currently interview to class in less than 30 days in many cases with Interview invite to class in less than six weeks.

4 weeks out was next available interview date
1 day interview. Pilots/HR panel & LOI

-Wait 2ish weeks for a call from a chief pilot

-Wait for a class date

What are "basic questions"? Just technical/aviation stuff or more like TMAAT stuff?

Why SWA? Tell us about yourself. A couple list and/TMAAT questions.

They save the hypothetical/technical questions for the Line oriented interview on the in-person day.

Thanks. If I can just log in to that virtual scheduler when there's actually a slot. My timing is always coming up with nothing available.

Applied to all but AA in late July.
Timelines -
UAL - Hogan invite in mid August. Interview early Oct. 8 weeks CJO to class date.
DAL - Invite for assessment in mid October. Interview early Nov. 6 Weeks CJO to class date.
SWA - Invite for virtual interview in early September. Interview late Oct. 11 weeks CJO to class date.

I feel like the time it take you to get an interview can be a little bit random, but as data points, from my interview date to class date at UA was 2 months, AA 6 weeks, SWA 5 months after virtual and about 17 weeks after in-person
