I remember back in the day being offered a flying job that paid $14/ hr to fly a jet! I asked if he was kidding and then politely declined and he said I don't blame you. I'm glad that crap has stopped for now.

Didn’t stop at Hawaiian. First year A330 FO pays $36/hour.

Not a typo either.

Gotta prep those pilots to be super cheap. If they survive the first year, they'll make great captains when they contemplate that 2.99 cup of coffee in 5 years...

SWA has a reputation for coming through times of crisis better than their competitors. That is usually due to a better balance sheet than most. This time around has not been kind to SWA and in my opinion they have made several missteps during our most recent round of airline hardship. That being said, the common thread to weathering storms has been a stronger financial position than most which is still the case. I won't be surprised if in the end SWA rallies and comes out ahead in the long run. I have been here way to long to ever consider a move but I suggest that some historical perspective might help in the decision making process. The grass very well may greener now, but what color will it look in the future is always the trick question.

No one knows the future it’s going to take several years for airlines to get back to normal mode. With that being said hindsight swa would have never allowed VSP or long term exto. Not including the money that has been spent. I just hope the economy doesn’t go into a recession with the rise of inflation. That would be my biggest worry being at the bottom of a legacy. There is a diff. between a letter and getting kicked to the street. I know I have been there.

Heck yeah baby!!!! BRANDON saved me big time on a new TV, 82 inch I got for 1299.99, normal price….last year was 2599.99. That’s a savings of 260 cups of coffee.

Also heading off to an NBA game in my city, tickets are 20 percent cheaper than 2019…that’s another 24 cups of coffees

My point is this, don’t be stupid. The President has little to no control over pricing in America, it’s supply vs demand. Americans have been on a spending spree for a year now and it’s only accelerating. On a side note since the ports of LA/LGB announced a fee for empty shipping containers clogging up the port they have seen a decline of 33 percent of aging units sitting on the port keeping unloading constrained. It’s almost like the companies were creating a bottle neck to jack up shipping costs to make up for last year….nah that couldn’t happen.
