High speed abort

Saw a blurb on the news about a southwest high speed abort due to an engine failure in DAL last week. Blown tire from rto braking on a hot day. Sounds like the crew did a great job.

Yeah. That was me. Truthfully it was actually because just prior to V1 I realized I forgot to “grab a muffin”.

VP of Flight Ops told the pilots to grab a free muffin from the hotel for breakfast on their early reports...or something to that effect.

More specifically to grab a muffin on our near-international turns before we had the “gourmet” meals.

So the implication was just to “grab a muffin” at the hotel in the morning to carry you through your 8-12 hour duty day since these a$$h*les tried to forbid you from getting off the airplane at the international station to grab some real sustenance.

Mickey Mouse, TX regional airline. Nothing more.

gotcha. Anyway, looks like the skipper did a good job handling the situation. Props to him and the rest of the crew.

Yep, that’s right. He became known as the “Muffin Man.”

It was at about the same time as our CEO (GK) said we should all be paid like plumbers. Hence, the many references within our pilot group to us being merely plumbers.

I do not think everyone realizes how hard it is working at HQ. Working from home and deck parties every Friday is not a bed of roses. You front line workers need to shut your pie hole and get to work..

Another thing, stop drinking the water and soft drinks that are on the AC, they are for paying passengers only.
