Alternatives to CrewBuddy, CrewWeb?
What’s everybody doing now that access to “unauthorized apps” has been cut off by the company? I have heard of at least one person going back to printing out trip sheets.
I’m particularly interested in alternatives to CrewWeb. I know that I can log on to CWA via a mobile browser but some of the functionality isn’t there (can’t open bidder lists, for ex). |

I still miss CrewZ (especially the open time viewer), but now that an MOU has been agreed upon and I can install it without a company profile on my phone, I'm using CrewHub for schedule viewing. |
Since the MOU I got crewhub from the unlisted apple app store. I’m waiting for crew view in that store. Until then, I’m just using the website in a browser for swacrew

I carry a laptop on the road (still prefer it to an iPad), so I just use CWA on a web browser when I need to do something on it. Still easier and faster to use for me than any of the mobile CWA apps.

CrewZapp still works, including the open time portal
I gave up on CrewZ. I used to be an ardent supporter, but when the author kept stringing us along for months with no crucial updates that were needed to fix basic functionality issues, I started to get suspicious. Then he came out with a mea culpa saying that he was having personal issues and would update soon to fix some outstanding issues. So I held on for a few more months. Then another "fix coming soon", held out for a few more. The fix never came. He basically bilked thousands of pilots and flight attendants for months of income. Instead of doing the right thing and giving the product away for free, or refunding subscriptions for that period, he is keeping at his old tricks. Great, innovative product that was run by a con artist. |

I flew a three day with the author of crew zap, stiffed the van driver each time with some bs excuse. After that I decided I wanted nothing to do with him again. Crew buddy was a class app run by a class dude until the end. Sorry to see it go.

RIP Crew Buddy |
I show up at report, call to check in. Look at the departures board to find gate. Go to gate. If that's the flight great if not hang out like a pax until notified of different gate. Go to that gate. Try to go to work and discuss with ops agent why I'm not on the paper work. Decide paperwork is right go to lounge and wait for someone to find me as my phone is in silent. Realize after my nap no one has found me. Get something to eat then go home.
once we are on a trip (checked in) there are a few ways we can be notified. Answering our personal cell phone is not one of them. As far as I can read for the duration of the trip we do not have to call scheduling, ever! I go home and enjoy 3-4 days of pay. not my responsibility |
Hoover gets it. I do the same thing. My dinner schedule and layover are my priorities.
