Texas seniority

After my stint in mil flying and the rapid swing to the woke culture, no foreseeable deployments for my sq, and just wanting to fly planes instead of push queep, I'm thinking of jumping ship, even though my wife will still have six years before she can get out. Eventually we would like to end up in Houston or DFW, and with SWA having both as domiciles, they're looking pretty attractive (assuming a CJO shows up). My big focus would be on QOL, and living in domicile I think there would be the opportunity to have better QOL and make up for the slightly lower pay than some of the other majors. How senior are each of these bases, and how quickly could someone expect to hold a line at either one?

Cheers!

Average seniority bases at least on the FO side of things. Most everyone is getting their base of choice within months of training. As for the lower pay, you have to remember that our "hourly" rate doesn't correlate directly to others rates.

I had to google what Queep is. Learn something new every day.

I would say DAL is a little more senior for F/O’s than HOU, but both should be easily held within the first 3-6 months on the line.

wow, you’re going to fit right in with most of the captains, welcome. As an FO, Dallas and Houston have recently gone more senior than even Orlando. Shouldn’t be more than a few months wait out of training.

That was my thought too. "Rapid swing to the woke culture"? You will fit right in with the NewsMax Captain crowd.

unless you’ve sat through some of the briefings, I’d hold your comments.

Talk about pre-judging…. Hello pot, meet kettle

Sat through some of the briefings? What does that even mean?

If you are getting out of the military because it's too woke, you're gonna have a bad time at the airlines.

I don't bring my political baggage to work. Some people do. I get it, I just think it's funny how angry they are. Like I said, he will fit right in at the Texas bases.

E6,
Find someone still on active duty and ask them about their last two years...I was stunned and am only removed from the AD for less than half a decade. PRT only once a year, and completely dumbed down to the point of insignificance. Endless "briefings" and GMT on transgendered issues and acceptance. At least in the civilian world your only forced to endure DEI briefings occasionally unless you want them more. It's not your AD anymore.

what does it mean? it means that sitting through some of those briefings (what you could call a ‘class’ in the civilian world) are quite disturbing and accusatory.

Read into it whatever you want and you can go have an argument with yourself.
