What happened to DAL?

Recent new hire here....

During our interview we were told 3-4 months from hire date to get DAL as a base. We were also told the same thing numerous times during training.

Now it's like 7-8 months to get DAL from what I'm seeing.

Why the slowdown all the sudden in DAL? I mean I understand things change but literally a month ago I had a DAL CP say 3-4 months from hire date to my face.

You got finessed. Enjoy that commute to an old clapped out guppy kiddo. Better get those apps out.

They’re very optimistic in the training department. Rumors never seem to materialize. I was told we would have 12,500 pilots and be flying to S America in 5 years, plus upgrade would be down to 5 years max. 5 years later I’m +/-2000 from upgrade and we still can’t figure out Canada.

There’s a lot of hiring going on. DAL is pretty much tapped out for growth so any spots in there are for attrition. May bid closes tomorrow and there’s over 250 new hires being added over the June and July bid. I’d say you should get it sooner than 7-8 but that depends on how many ahead of you want it.

Clearly you’ve never overnighted at the Lord Beaverbrook hotel in Fredericton, NB. I would’ve changed my religion for the redhead working the bar downstairs. (The servers were all dressed in catholic schoolgirl uniforms) 😍😲

That makes MDW and DAL that are capped for growth. So where are these 2000 newbs and fleet expansion going? There's got to be a new base in the works right? How could there not be?

Some people are given talking points to read without looking at reality. But even 7-8 months is crazy fast compared to a few years ago. Welcome aboard!

Thanks Smooth. Yeah I realize I'm lucky as hell compared to others that waited years to get DAL back in the day.
