Non rev full fare ticket question

Non rev/jumpseat question. Flights looking kinda full for next week, May go ahead and purchase refundable tickets. Fare rules for purchased tickets say refundable if cancelled an hour or so before flight.

Is there a time between cancelling fare ticket and trying to Non rev at SWA? Don’t wanna ruffle any feathers. Thanks.

if you are a SWA employee, this could result in losing your non-rev privileges. I’m not sure how they treat OAL employees who do the same.

I understand the temptation but it’s highly frowned upon. If you have to be there just buy the ticket otherwise roll the dice and non-rev.

Thanks, just wanted to make sure. Some coin to SW pilots hopefully.

Customer service will give you the what for if you try this and they catch it. They will probably deny you a nonrev boarding pass. It is highly frowned upon and viewed as an abuse of Southwest's non revenue agreement with other airlines since SWA has such a liberal cancelation policy. SWA employees who try this lose their pass privileges. You can go from nonrev to revenue but don't try to go from a revenue ticket to nonrev.
