You must not be familiar with global reserve at United. I think our reserve rules are pretty good, with the one exception being you can’t move days around (I live within 2 hours so the SCR doesn’t bother me, but I could see how it sucks for commuters). I don’t know where else you can credit 118 a month with 15 days off on reserve.

I have friends in Chicago and Denver and Dallas who have had multiple unused blocks over the last few months. I don’t know how they avoid flying, but I was like you and got used almost every day.

Been sitting pretty at my 91 job for several years. No 121 time. Wife and I have to move to Baltimore for her job (she's the bread winner). It seems like WN is really the only option for me. We'll be close to BWI. Is it as bad as they say? Should I consider a home-based ACMI or fractional job? Maybe suffer the commute farther south into DC?

AA and UAL also have DC bases. You can bid BWI flying. Spirit has a heavy presence at BWI and JB has a heavy presence at DCA. It’s possible the two to eventually have a crosstown base after the merger… but I would go to one of the know bases that cover BWI. If you have a Cushy part 91 job, UAL widebody FO is probably the closest thing to what you have. If you have one that flies your tail off, SWA or maybe even AA will have you right at home.

I had 6-7 unused days in Nov. Weekday PM and bid pass. Put trips in TTGA the second they’re awarded and sometimes they get picked up.
