WN has many things in our contract that are better QOL wise than anyone else, DL included. Second, Lews analysis has pilots at 76 captain rates or greater every year after the first. Only a few Delta pilots have just recently been able to achieve that. Mathematically, it will never be a large number, unless they're doing CA/CA flights there and nobody told me.

My questions were for Lew, but thanks for chiming in.

I will simply never understand this self defeating attitude. Thinking you might be number 75 of 80.

It's adequate healthcare; I wouldn't call it excellent. Otherwise our union wouldn't have to pay a separate company to keep fighting the numerous claim denials our members are getting far too often.

My previous company had a better plan, also with no premiums, and significantly lower copays. The 20% coinsurance on SWA's plans costs me significantly more each year.

I agree with this statement. Previous employer had mucho better insurance. Now I double covered and my wife’s insurance is 50 times better than the RP and has zero monthly cost and a max out of pocket family of 2K a year. Covers everything the RP does plus preventative.

It’s interesting to see the RP deny everything under me then it flows to the secondary and it’s all picked up. No matter what it is the RP denies the first time through. I think I have only seen once the wife’s insurance (with my kids) actually send something to the WN RP that they didn’t pay. The RP denied that one the first time through but paid after an appeal.

I have this discussion with many, usually the people who think it’s good haven’t really experienced a good plan in the past.

Yeah, I hope you guys are right and SWAPA all the sudden starts fighting for $600/tfp, the company agrees to it, and it doesn't destroy the company's ability to turn a profit. If living in the reality that none of that will happen is "self defeating" then yes, in guilty. I'll be happy with industry leading pay and work rules. You guys seem like you want to form a mob and burn those that disagree with your wild claims at the stake, repeatedly acting like those that disagree with you are the enemy and must be horrible people. It's sad.

Turning a profit is not of my concern. Management is tasked with that job. I fight for as much as I can and don’t care if the goose is fried.

Guess I’ve been lucky. 7.5 yrs on the RP and every claim has been approved. No issues fighting for covered things to be paid. We def need medical benefits paid 100% on LTD.

On our internal SWAPA forum we now have pilots posting “burn the place down” and “max pay till the last day” type of posts. The level of anger of this pilot group is building at an increasing rate. NEVER would I have thought I’d witness it when I came over from the other side of the partition about a decade ago. Back then this place was the wonder airline and RSW pilots’ excrement didn’t stink. Now it’s devolved to the point where you even have a “Summer of No Luv” thread that was started. Granted, the operation doesn’t resemble the UAL Summer of Love from yesteryear as the metal is still thoroughly moving.

Yep, gets it. This company apologizes and pays us double time. Time to attract pilots, 600 is a good number. Beats inflation and buying power in todays world.
