Like Lew said, I'm not necessarily trying to convince him; I'm trying to counterbalance his outdated and myopic information so that others don't get misled by it.

Kind of like what Lew tries tirelessly to do with RLA information and refuting JW. Lew may never persuade JW that his stance of "the president will never allow us to strike" is wrong, but he provides crucial education to minimize the number of pilots within our group who may otherwise believe JW.

The more we can get away from "we fly 737s so we deserve 737 pay", the more people may start demanding, and expecting, top industry pay on this and subsequent contracts.

The fact that this is even a prevalent argument (even if it's currently mostly the vociferous 20-200 social media users) is major progress. It wasn't even discussed as something we wouldn't achieve on the last contract or before. Even somebody saying something isn't possible is progress from not even realizing the concept could exist.

Two cavemen sitting around the campfire never had the conversation "nah, we'll never be able to fly. Too heavy."

The problem he said was if he paid that we would demand 400 an hour for a 737 CA and it could not generate the revenue needed.
So perhaps it's time to finally dump this dinosaur of an airplane and get something better.....

I currently have a CJO and looking to transition from military career to 121 in December. What is expected if a strike occurs before or during training? Not start class, stop training if already there? Is it ok to start and complete training as long as nothing is done to make revenue for the company? Will SWAPA put out info for that publicly for those that aren't members yet if/when released? Just curious as to what to expect and don't want to end up on a scab list. Also would like to still have job offer there after it's resolved, not sure if telling SWA no to class during a strike would put that in jeopardy.
