every company believes this.. even AA. We still have better schedules and QOL than they do. Age 67 will hit soon and they will stop hiring. Their 3yr upgrade will go to 5 and ours will sit around 5 as well after the hiring gap. We are also in a much better financial position. I know this is a place to complain but let’s at least be a bit logical.

Bologna on the first half of that.
🔥👇 We do not have better schedules and QOL though. That is for certain. |

Devil's Advocate on this one. Multiple fleet types and regional feed add to better schedules for mainline fleets. We have no regional feed so all that flying is ours which makes for more dense schedules vs the other guys with our network. Especially when they run in in the red. If AA/UAL/DAL had less options they would have pretty crappy schedules too. They do not make the schedules nice because they want to give pilots QOL. If that were the case then TA-1 at UAL and AA would have reflected that notion.

our dense schedules give us way more time at home. I had four 3 day AM this month. That gave me 19 full days at home and 8 more that I was there at least part of it. For me that equates to it being better. I don’t want to spend 30hr on overnights all the time. We definitely fly more legs, that’s the trade off.
That said….WB long-haul or especially WB LC reserve is truly where it’s at. |

Spot on, and I agree with you. Given equal TFP/hourly pay between SWA and the Big 3, I’d rather be at SWA flying my ass off when I’m at work and enjoying more days off than DLA, UAL or AA.

SRC is right when they say the company doesnt have a manning problem they have an efficiency problem. we have more pilots with the same amount of planes as we did 4 yrs ago, yet we have 40-50 parked because we dont have enough pilots? if we want a job in the next 5 yrs at SW we need to make sure we get our rewrite. The company is going to tank it otherwise |

remember when we would fly our ass off on a 3 day worth 27 now it's a 3 day worth 22 for the same type of 3 day? 4 days over 32 are almost all gone. And turn lines are full of 6.5. Sept lines that all pay 87.
