BNA base

As a new FO beginning in December, is Baltimore pretty likely as my first base assignment? It sounded that way during my interview, but would be great to hear some insight. Also, my family would like to ultimately end up based in Nashville. How senior is BNA currently? Anyone have any idea how long it might take to get there? Thanks!

Baltimore likely.
Nashville not senior.
Unknown time to hold it.

Nobody can accurately answer this. We have 500 pilots displaced all over the place, 300 spots being held back for a new base (not announced yet), and still lots of pilots that weren’t senior enough to hold it before all that waiting to get in. Any vacancy here is a moving target. New base may make it super junior or they will continue to pull pilots from BNA like they have been and make it more senior than it already was. They’re notorious for announcing something one day and doing just the opposite the next week. BNA was suppose to be a big base and it’s half the size they initially announced.

First of all - congrats on the job! I've been on property for just over 2 years and it's truly been a great experience.

BNA isn't senior but some junior FO's have recently been displaced lately. Sounds like they're drawing down BWI so I'd bet MCO is where you'd end up initially unless a new rumored domicile is opened up. Shouldn't take you too long to get to BNA though with planned expansion there as well. Good luck!

BNA isn’t super senior assuming there is hiring going on. Most junior BNA FO is a late November 2023 hire. The lack of hiring and upgrade classes recently has made it so that anyone <2 years can’t get in now. This hiring should help.
