AFAIK the little sit downs at job fairs etc really only get a checkmark on your application., No actual hiring goes on. But if you're serious about SWA it's worth it to research it and put the time in to meet.

Thanks friend. I figured it could potentially lead to getting your app pulled for an interview but wasn't sure if I needed to prep to that level at this point with no interview date.

When I went to a meet-and-greet 8-ish years ago it was a different format than all the other airlines in that they would grab a half-dozen pilots or so and just kind of hang out for about 10 minutes in a small group. I wouldn't say prep work would be necessary, since I didn't have any. But you'll get varying degrees of recommendation on whether that's a good idea or not.

Years ago, I went to an actual SWA job fair in Dallas. It was like winning a ticket to Willy Wonka! 200 tickets for AM and 200 for PM, I think. Thousands of guys hitting refresh on their web browser as SWA released tickets every hour over three hours. I ended up getting one. It’s too long of a story but I know 100% that I received the interview invite because of that job fair. Plus, the process trained me up for ELITT! 😁

Sounds like a social experiment to see how you interact with others. Do you at least have a chance to hand over your resume and say hello to a recruiter for a few minutes?

I went to OBAP and met the head of recruiting there. Ended up getting an interview a few weeks later. Never know….

thats basically what the interview is... to get to know you and see if someone would want to spend a 4 day with you.
Understand the core values and mission statements and tailor your actions and responses to those during the interview.
Say hi to the people behind the desk in the room you hang out in, hold open a door, pick up something if someone drops it. Be the good person you are and put yourself out there.
SW hires pilots who will push a wheel chair or go get that stroller from onder the wing.
not someone who looks good in a hat.
