Every AT F/O gets an immediate pay raise to what AT Capt's are currently making. Do you take the deal or wait to see what arbitration brings then make AT wages for two years while SWA drags their feet integrating you?

Indeed. They would move them.
Doesn't that make the Atlanta "vacancy priority" pretty much useless?

So, basically, they are going to give priorty for ATL to AT guys, then move equipment out and shrink it so the priority is relatively worthless, I guess. Seems like a tough pill to swallow for AT guys, as far as seniority. I have a bunch of SWA FO buddies who are happy to have another 1000 guys below them overnight. Maybe the new SWA will "acquire" someone else and then do the same thing, which will then make the ex-AT guys happy.

There's an equipment lock until 2014, so if the equipment moves the pilots move with them. Some might not consider that a screw job.

I realize that anytime a pilots cheese is moved without his written consent we consider ourselves screwed.

Something like 60 percent of AT commutes. Is it fair to assume that some of those guys would rather bid out on their own? I know AT pilots that live in PHX, and I'm sure they'd rather sit reserve in PHX than commute to ATL.

If ATL is manned like MDW or PHX it will have over 800 pilots.

I don't know if that makes it worthless or not. Probably for all the guys who live in ATL it will be great. It will keep senior SWA dudes from poaching their domicile.

Sure, this is a SLI thread, but this is related. When’s LUV going to hire again? It was common knowledge that interviews were going to happen again this fall, and then recently amended to be on hold until SLI. Not that the dust’s settled yet, but when’s the hiring going to begin again?

What equipment are new hires going to go into in the future now? Many of us have the 737 type. I'd be happy to fly the 717 tho.

Considering that someone my age (30)... if I were a semi junior AirTran FO I wouldn't be looking at an upgrade until I am 50 or 53 with this combined list with the combined retirements.

Not sayin... just sayin...

So, why would anyone apply to SWA when they know that there is zero chance to upgrade prior to 2020? This should end the parade of guys looking for SWA jobs. You would be an idiot to take a job stapled under this steaming pile of ****

Look at the retirement data. Half of the current WN list wont be gone until ~2029. AirTran is a couple years behind at ~2032.
