Well maybe they do have an "industry Leading fatigue Policy" but how they exercise that policy is just as important as having that policy.

Case in point, SWA publicly does very well as a supporter of the Guard and Reserves, and apparently has some good policies here, but my buddies complain about resistance they have faced trying to take military leave over the years.

I haven't heard about anyone getting hasled over fatigue calls. The mil leave was problematic, but USERRA helped clarify the rules. It's been a few years since that was an issue. Can we go back to talking about how lucky the FL pilots were?:D

Fatigue
Notwithstanding the chart in 5.D.2.e., a pilot may declare himself fatigued at any time in the interest of safety. The Company will immediately pull the pilot from the pairing with no questions asked. The pilot will be left in a paid status and will not be required to contact his Chief Pilot. Declaring fatigue will not result in any disciplinary action. The Company will work with the pilot to get him back on his pairing as quickly and efficiently as possible after the pilot is sufficiently rested.

How many -800s has WN taken delivery of thus far? I heard somewhere in the ballpark of 10-13, is that correct?

You really had to write that in your contract?? Maybe it is just me, but that is something I never worry about. If I am truly fatigued, I will call in as such (which I have only done once in my career).. and never worry about any repercussions. Safety.. a great word to use with management.
