indeed, presently correct. However never say never. Especially in the name of "more jobs, more choices" for air commerce. Last time I checked, both parties were concerned about our economy.
SWA grew up when no one noticed them and/or no one cared or took them seriously. And to some limited extent they did create some additional marketshare (taking people from Greyhound, etc) but today it is vastly different. Gone are the days of post 9-11 poaching at will while legacies cowering in the corner and yielding marketshare to rapidly growing so called LCC's. If SWA tries to run with the big dogs on premium international now, they will be in for a world of hurt. |

thanks for posting that. where can i find that memo from russel? Integration Update from Russell McCrady (issued January 30) |
No doubt that SWA will get it figured out internationally. But,as some rah-rah types have implied, here we come, look out. We are better, cheaper and gonna kick your a$$, we're Southwest. Well, Airtran was cheaper and offered cabin upgrade possibilities. World didn't end when they arrived. Latin America, Caribbean already has JB, Spirit, Sun Country and then you get to the legacies. Earnestly I wish your company good luck. Just dial the SWA hubris back. The great and powerful oz you are not anymore.

thanks for that!
I guess this is the catchall While I expect the training and fleet plans to execute as outlined, it’s certainly possible that circumstances could arise that would require some adjustments. If that happens, we will notify you immediately of any changes. Any thoughts on this: the training center has been telling recurrent classes NO UPGRADES. |

We are not overstaffed with captains.
This is from Russell McCrady in a memo dated 30 Jan 2013: "The Training Center will also be buzzing with activity as we have 12 Southwest Pilot upgrade classes slated for 2013. The classes began in January, and we expect one class of 24 Pilots per month through the end of the year, for a total of 288 upgrades." |

You're welcome for the Cptn seats. BTW- you're welcome for the career position you couldn't obtain through the front door and the RSW seniority. You'll have to send your thank you's to: Mr. Gary Kelly c/o of SWAPA Negotiating Committee 1450 Empire Central Suite 737 Dallas, TX 75247 |

So who is going to pay CBP begin operating at those two airports? Last time I checked, neither Midway, nor Islip were "International" airports, ie no customs/immigration, and Cancun and the DomRep were not pre clearance stations.
fairly sure midway is an international airport and does have customs/immigration? |
