Questions for those who have transition

I am going (from AirTran) soon and need to get on the ball. The package and the reality of training I realize are probably different so I wanted to solicit feedback. Any recommendation you have for stuff to do while there would also be appreciated.

What size IPAD did you get?

After it is loaded with operating system and Southwest Required apps how much space is left?

I am on AT&T network with my cell phones any value added to buying it through AT&T(and / or) getting a $100 discount and buying it through AT&T with $10/mo shared data plan.

Does the training center have WIFI to enable IPAD's if I do not get a DATA plan.

Fly to training or move airport car from ATL to DAL since I know I will be based elsewhere?

Follow up to prior question. Will I have to go back to ATL to get mileage for moving my car, or can I just get mileage from DAL to destination?

Thanks guys I am going soon and just wanted to see what others have done. If you have an innovative ideas please share.

Thanks Boogie

Reality is: this is a self-taught program. Make sure you buddy up with a 737 person, unless you is one.

My Ipad is 64gb. It is showing 50.4gb available at this time.

Buy it wherever you want. They reimburse a set amount.

WIFI, yes.

Take your car.

Mileage? The only way to get mileage is as part of a paid move to your new base.

Total used on mine is 17 GB. I do not have a lot of media on it.

The TC has WiFI.

Where are you moving to? The mileage is based from address to address. They won't know its in DAL and that's not your current residence. The SWA side paid move is that way. Not sure what your side says. They pay for two cars.

I have the 64mb, no data plan.

West coast probably

I will probably be going to a west coast base as they are junior.
Since I am based in ATL I would like to get paid to drive my airport car to my new base. I am not moving my current residence only my domicile but it would seem fair since I can not hold ATL they would pick up the cost of me moving my vehicle to my new domicile. I just want to take it to Dallas for training before I go to my new domicile.

Any recommendations of stuff to do while in Dallas?

I am thinking 64 Gig is the way to go.

Thanks for your help

IPAD Case

One more question do they reimburse you for an IPAD case or do they issue you one specific to the IPAD holder for the plane?

Also has anyone downloaded the 737 Bulfer Guide App? If so any feed back on it?

Thanks

They provide you with a case. I have seen it and it reminded me of an "otter" type case. I happened to get an inexpensive one on clearance to protect it until I go to class and get the one they issue.

I did not download the Buffer app yet. From talking to people that have gone before, they recommend getting as much off of crew place as possible before you lose access. I got our AOM and will be watching our system videos.

Be very careful with this one. You might get a few hundred dollars (maybe, but I doubt it) then when you decide to move for real----sorry. There was a set of instructions issued to us some time ago to explain company paid moves.

The IPAD case is 'very' specific and is free. No options on the case.

This part will take care of itself. ;) Self-training is very time consuming.

The only thing I have to move is my car and crash pad stuff.
