Total Time Rquirements

I am wondering if SWA is staying firm on their requirements or are they flexible?

What does the website say?

Here is what is on their website: 2500 hours total flight time or 1,500 hours total flight time in a turbine aircraft. Additionally, a minimum of 1,000 hours in a Turbine aircraft as the Pilot in Command. Only time in a fixed wing aircraft is counted, this specifically excludes simulator, helicopter, WSO, RIO, FE, NAV,EWO and UAV. Actively flying for 2 of the last 5 years is preferred.

Are you sure I can't come to work at SWA with a fresh commercial ticket and 210 hours? I keep hearing that airlines are having a hard time finding pilots, they should be happy to have me and my vast experience! I have FIFTEEN HOURS in a retractable gear airplane! :D

Agreed. These threads should be ignored. I don't understand what is so difficult to understand about minimums POSTED.
It's like an entitlement crowd.

I don't think it's an entitlement attitude but rather some people are hungry to work for SWA. I think it's more that they're very hopeful the TPIC time requirement will drop or be eliminated and with the rumor constantly floating around I understand why so many are asking, BUT it still gets old.
