Would a letter of recommendation from a Southwest captain who taught some of my classes and is a CFI at my university help me get into Southwest with lower time?

Recommendations only come into play after you've been selected for the interview. Before you're invited to the interview, not even chief pilots can help.

Just wondering what are the latest class date assignments, anyone can chime in? Also, I heard they plan 3 classes a month, how many are usually in a class? Thanks and congrats to all with the happy calls!

Currently in class now. Classes have been 28 people and 3 classes per month.
System cheif said they are going to hire more pilots this year than they ever have. (660 was last year's number)

Can you give us a demographic over view of your class

Hours, mil/civ, age range, etc

Is your class getting Classic training? I was told they are stopping new-hire training in the classics soon (if not already).

I received the call yesterday and can expect a class at the end of March.

FWIW. I was told that classic training would continue until Julyish.
