Spirit subforum

I think if we keep spamming the Major page maybe we'll finally get our own subforum.

...or we'll just continue to be treated like the red headed stepchildren of APC.

WHACKMASTER 02-18-2017 02:04 PM

Seriously, I don't understand why you guys don't. You're almost as big as Alaska and more than twice the size of Hawaiian, both of which have their own subforum. Hope you guys get a great contract and your own subforum :D

Thanks man....I hope so too.

Mod Note:

I am trying to get the informed opinion and perspective of the other moderators on whether we should give you kids your own little playground. However, it doesn't help your cause if y'all keep spamming the forums. So I suggest you stop that kind of childish behavior.

I personally would find it helpful to receive well thought out reasons for why Spirit should have its own subforum. I am confident most of you can craft something intelligent and meaningful. If you can't, however, just don't post or you will be forced to say goodbye not just to a subforum, but to all your dearly beloved friends on APC.

Hmmm, I just noticed something - I have flown as a passenger on all the airlines that have their own subforums. I have never flown Spirit. Does Spirit serve SEA? Where all does it go? Big bonus points if I can take it to CRP [hint].

Ok, I'll go see about cleaning up your spam, spam, spam and eggs. :)

Riverside 02-18-2017 03:41 PM

15 minutes and not one single response.

Left Handed 02-18-2017 03:51 PM

Yes we do serve SEA. Right now we only go to LAX I think. But I will put in a good word for that city if we can get our own sub forum😁

MANTOGA 02-18-2017 03:51 PM

I tried to help our cause but apparently my thread was considered spam even though it shares the same title as many other carrier's threads minus "Spirit" being part of the title. It did have legitimate content, I guess I shouldn't have used the word rumor despite it being a pilot's top ten favorite word.

Riverside 02-18-2017 03:57 PM

I'm voting mantoga off the island because he didn't sign the rules and announcement~ sarcasm.

MANTOGA 02-18-2017 04:10 PM

My rumor must have been too juicy

Well, why can't we have our own subforum to begin with? It would be helpful if we knew what APC's criteria for getting a subforum was to begin with, no? Is it pilot group size? This airline is at 1500+ and hiring 30+ a month indefinitely. So that shouldn't be the problem. We're not a legacy obviously, but neither is jetBlue, and they have their own subforum. This pilot group is very active on this forum and we sometimes discuss a pretty wide variety of topics that could use multiple threads (as shown by our spam). Having all of that lumped into one thread is not ideal.

So please....Stop treating us like the Rodney Dangerfield of APC and give us our own subforum. :)

I'll play

We just took our 95th Airbus delivery, on our way to a current fleet plan of 160. That will make us larger than Alaska, and about 3 times larger than Hawaiian. We fly all over the Western Hemisphere, from Lima to Seattle and everywhere in between. For 2015 Spirit was the 4th most profitable airline in the world based on margins. Spirit was the launch customer in North America for the A320 NEO, we put more passengers on our A321 than American puts on there 767's. While our customer experience sucks and our on-time performance metrics are lagging, our business model has caused the 3 largest airlines in the world to alter how they are doing business.

AAs 787 also carry less. 226. Maybe we should ask for 75/76/78 rates?

Mod Note:

I was disappointed that Chimpy could not participate, but I decided to exercise my Admin mojo and created a subforum.

Ok, so I moved what Spirit threads I could find.

Please do not ruin this by posting profanity, engage in flamebait or troll or any number of offensive forum behaviors.

My Rationale

I don't have a dog in this hunt, but here is my rationale.

Spirit, Frontier, and Allegiant comprise the bulk of the active airline threads in the Majors overall folder. (Not counting all the 'what are we going to do with NAI' threads.) They each are larger than at least one of the airlines that already has a sub folder.

Therefore, it makes sense to me to establish a sub folder for each of them.

Just like a filing cabinet drawer, put the bulk of the items in sub folders. Let the remainder 'one here and one there' remain as miscellaneous.

My two cents. Thanks for asking.

Uh, don't push your luck, buddy! ;)

The Frontier and Allegiant dudes will have to make their own case, if they so choose.

Sorry! Was getting the kids to bed, lol. Thanks for the Subforum, hopefully a TA to follow, lol

So whining and temper tantrums work!

How long 'til Chimpy complains about being relegated to some dark corner of APC? Can you believe it? They kicked us off center stage.

For being a "moderator" I feel like if anything that response was the example of "childish behavior" (not a spirit guy)

Well I'll be....

Would ya look at that!

Agree 100%. Why do I care if Allegiant and Frontier have their own sub folder?

And why would Mods want to block them from having their own conversations related to their own pilot groups in their own sub Forum?

I only go to the main area to read the TOLD thread. The fact these guys don't have their own areas is tool-ish. Seriously--it's no sweat off anyone's backs...

My two cents. Thanks for asking. :)

Cmon guys... if we can all cause enough trouble to get a sub forum, I think we can all cause enough trouble to get our contract finished.

Let's all play like we're on the same team here cause in the end we really are.

We did, in a private message and it was ignored.

If you look at the latest "where we fly" chart on the Spirit website, looks like Seattle is adding service to Detroit, Baltimore, Vegas and Houston as well.

what is a sub forum?
