I complain about the union only in so far as they a weak in their tactics. I have never said peep about their help with LOI's, grievances, even the extra they take for the merger fund. I actually think they do a pretty good job with all of that and more, especially considering what they have to deal with from the company and pilots.
But that doesn't buy them one inch of slack in my book when it comes to how they are running this negotiation.
What's the point of complaining about the company? Everyone knows their playbook. They're greedy fools run by incompetent hacks. News flash? Hardly.
When are you going to ask your union to do more about these repeated slaps in the face of all of us?
Where are the promised billboards, newspaper ads, pickets. Enough of the damn emails! Glad to hear a pay comparison is coming but where's the calls to the chokers? The informational pep talks? This place has more apologist and people afraid of their own shadow than the crappiest regional out there. Still waiting on a response from the NC.

Not the whole story. They wanted massive concessions on work rules too. It would've been quite possible to be junior and get an non pay protected transition conflict and you end up with a 43hr line with no open time to build back up.

What part of the CBA is scheduling reading that allows them to assign a reserve assignment over a day off?
I just witnessed this happen to another pilot. I read all of section 25 multiple times. 25.4.N "days off" is the only the section I can find that applies. It states they can move this day off if notified 72 hours prior and the day off must be restored.
This incident was within 72 hours and no offer to restore the day off was made.
During negotiations and everything else going on why are our ALPA reps allowing this to happen with the response "fly it and file an NCC?"
This is the time to lock it down and not let scheduling get away with whatever they want. Our whole union just proved that management can get away with breaking our CBA all summer.
This is pathetic and sad.
