If you think Spirit would have your back in this situation I'd have to disagree.

Wow, are we the only ones that got that email? I was expecting it to get more play on here.

If the majority are like me they likely could give a $#!t about emails from our management fools. I didn't read past the subject line and just deleted it.

I don't know how Delta pays it's pilots. I do know that when the door is open and passengers are boarding or deplaning I'm off the clock and not getting paid, so consider the following:

I am not on the clock, not getting paid, not performing assigned duties..
If injured trying to defuse a situation will workmans comp apply? Who pays for my lost trips while I am being investigated or sued by a passenger or physically disabled?
I have no training in domestic violence resolution.
We have trained gate agents and law enforcement to deal with these problems.
I get you to the airport. After that, not my circus, not my problem.
If that sounds callous. It is. It's also good advice from someone who has been hauling people around a long time.

One caveat, you assault my crew all bets are off.

They won't cover you if you get injured pushing a handicapped person up the jetway in a wheelchair. They certainly won't cover you hitting someone, no matter how well intentioned.

Exactly. I took one look at the title, thought "my common sense will apply" here, hit delete and moved on with my life. Why the heartburn over this? I can't get past "cost-neutral".

Your still getting emails? I thought you went to Delta?

Considering the quality (or lack thereof) of our IT, it wouldn't surprise me one bit that someone who escaped the asylum was still receiving company emails.
