Strike vote Lanyards

I was going to have some "Strike Vote 2017" Lanyards made in yellow so it matches the Airbus. I was going to run 500, $1.00 a unit. Looking for ideas! Yellow lanyard with black "ALPA Strike Vote 2017". It will also hold your airport badge. Can't get the image to load.

I think red would be better. It clashes with our uniforms and it's totally different from anything Spirit would give us.

I prefer FUPM ones

Super EZ E 04-30-2017 11:53 AM

I got the image to load as my avatar. FU park might come off a little harsh to the general public. The strike vote sends a message. IMHO I can have whatever color, not an issue. BTW I'll pay the $500 and the pilots pay $2.00 to the strike fund for the lanyards! Pay the union for the lanyards. I want nothing other than send a real message.

Yes nothing Yellow

I think this is a bad idea all around, especially with spirit colors. We already have the green ones

Pgus 04-30-2017 11:59 AM

Orange or red, good idea !!

Sorry sport. If it's not union sanctioned, I won't wear your lanyard.

Probably the worst idea, ever.

You clearly don't like the lanyard and admitted to not wearing it in the past.

We finally have almost everyone wearing green and we want to bring another message into the game?

Ridiculous.

Green lanyards show unity: different lanyards does not. It's that simple.

Ed Force One 04-30-2017 12:24 PM

I would think this sort of thing is best left to the SPSC. Key word being "Strategic."

1/3 of our pilot group going rogue (you said you'd make 500) I think would send quite the opposite message.

gatorbird 04-30-2017 12:25 PM

I'll second that. Horrible idea. The SPSC is really ratcheting their activity; if they want another lanyard/sticker/tag/earrings they'll issue it. All it'll do is dilute the effectiveness of the green one. Will you wear both? Alternate? One on your bag?

Sorry, just reminds me of the 26%er sticker from years ago.

ovrtake92 04-30-2017 12:28 PM

Seems really odd. 500 yellow lanyards?? Hmmm

Qotsaautopilot 04-30-2017 01:24 PM

Anything not sanctioned by the union or the company is not protected in the uniform policy and you could be asking for trouble FYI

This should be the least of your worries. Let's concentrate on not undermining the effectiveness of our ALPA representatives by creating a visible sign of disunity within the pilot group.

Are you trying to send a message to the union that we need to do a strike vote and you disagree with the strategy they have taken to this point? OR are you trying to send a message to the company that we aren't a unified pilot group? These are the only messages that will be sent if you go out on your own and buy your lanyards. If you you have a problem with the strategy of our NC and SPSC, then call them directly to discuss it with them. If you want to show management that we aren't unified, then go slurp down some gravy.

Terrible idea...pass! You're joining Gunga Dim in the long list of bad ideas.

falcon2000aj 04-30-2017 03:28 PM

Didn't the OP complain about the green lanyard and say he wasn't wearing it??

Anyone not wearing the green lanyard at this point is nothing more than a stooge of Team Bendover/ Jyrinal. There is no middle ground.

It might be a bad idea, especially when we're trying to display unity... However, it does demonstrate how frustrated MANY of us are, and perhaps the SPSC should take heed. For example, why do we have a single damn truck in BDL showing our displeasure (in a place that doesn't know Spirit) when we should have a dozen in FLL?!?! Goddamit we need to light the fires in the places that count!! Not some new city that has a handful of departures per day!

Sweet! Have you called BC and asked to be updated on the latest SPSC strategy, since there's a new committee chair AND we're to a new chapter in the section 6 process? Maybe you've volunteered to help?
