Spirit Questions

Hello, I have some questions regarding Spirit.

1) Is it possible to get FLL right after IOE ?

2) How does Spirit build its trips , is it just like any other airline or does the FLL base have a lot of out & back type trips. I live minutes from FLL and really do not want to spend more than 10 nights a month in a hotel.

3) How long can I expect to be on reserve at FLL

4) How much does the health insurance for a family of 4 cost ?
( Basic plan no frills)

Thanks in advance

1. Maybe. Depends on seniority in class.
2. Don't come then. Most likely you'll do more than 10. I've seen out and back lines before but you can't bank on it. If you interview tell them you can't do more than 10 nights.
3. Depends on growth, never know for sure.
4. Depends on plan you end up choosing, it's not cheap. No insurance for 90 days BTW.

Why in God's name, would you want to even consider this place??
Are you aware of our current managements incompetence? Come on over and you will have a job for about a year....

Most recent posts are centered around the mediation process,,,,
Is there a training contract like frontier?

How long does it take as a new FO to get DFW and or LAS?

Thanks in advance.

No training contract, hotel is paid for. Either of those bases you could have within a few months. All recent new hires start in ACY or FLL.

I appreciate your response.

Greetings. I've been lurking for the better part of a year. Finally signed up!
I'm stuck in a 135/91 gig that's slipping down a slope. I took the Spirit personality questionnaire a few days ago and waiting for a response.

4800tt
700tpic (135/91 Citation)
3500 sic (121 RJ)
No degree
Mid 30s.

Looking to get back to 121 that isn't a regional.

Lots of great info here, I appreciate that. So thank you to all that have contributed.

5 years at NK, still have all my apps updated, no degree.
Go to a regional with flow, or go back to college.

Just understand the climate you are volunteering to join....

Also understand that at our current pay rates you can't afford tuition is you're needing to finish a degree.

It's all perspective, I know. Considering the environment I'd be vacating, it's an improvement on many fronts.

Gracemonth... people are very bitter given our state of labor disputes but don't let that deter you from doing what you think is right for you and your family. We have a good QOL and we're fighting hard to retain that and get our deserved raises. If you live in base QOL can be great not just good. I'd say with your times not only are you competitive but I'd also go as far as to say you may have an upper hand. No disrespect to you at all but with a degree and your experience your a better candidate for a legacy. Without it they know your chances of leaving are much slimmer and will probably go out of they're way to hire you. The contract will be resolved hopefully sooner rather than later. But there are question marks as to what kind of QOL items we'll be able to keep. Good luck and hope you get the call

Thank you! I'm hoping as well. It would be a great improvement for my family as well, and that's all part of the decision process for all of us (with families) isn't it? Cheers. Thanks for the uplifting reply!

Will Spirit be at any upcoming job fairs or have any "meet and greet" opportunities?

Spirit usually attends job fairs that Aero Crew Solutions is putting on, but I also know they have been doing some Chief Pilot Meet and greets also. ( I have not heard of any that they are having in the near future, but just keep coming back here and checking. Someone will post it if they have one).

A friend is attending a CP meet and greet in Atlanta next Monday. Sorry, I don't have specifics or confirmation.
