Once PBS is implemented, they can schedule us for 9 hours of flight time....

Don't see how they can justify NO RES drops after PBS

Probably because of guys like me. I probably dropped 3-4 R days a month, lol........ not to make it up for it by accepting JRMs, either, lol.

An ALPA guy told me they had 934 RSV drops for the month of July. So if anyone put us in this situation in regards to reserves, it’s us.

What I don't get is they could have put those R days back in to the open time pot and chose to never do so.

Right? Lol my guess is single reserve days from guys dropping the middle days wouldn’t help cover whole trips.

Based on your post I guess you think it's bad to "exploit" a benefit?

I'm usually not one who does, but there are plenty of times I've had to fly and grieve because the company exploited theirs.

Tit for tat is costly, but it's a reality as well.

But at least you'll be at a "Short Overnight" hotel 95% of the time now because of the 18 hour language. You can easily call the desk and take a later shuttle. (About the only silver lining I can find.)

The company has the ability under the current CBA to add R days or blocks of R days to open time. If they choose not to do so, it's on them. Don't try to pin the blame on the pilots for taking full advantage of the current negotiated language that likely came at the expense of other sections of the CBA.

Maybe if year 1 pay wasn’t poverty wages, there wouldn’t be so many drops. Sad that people have to go outside of Spirit to make a living the first year. And I don’t think $55/hr is enough either
