Interview to Class

Greetings,

Does anyone know how long it has been lately from a successful interview to a class date?

Thanks.

Plan on 1 month...and use that month wisely to learn limitations, memory items, and learn both flows perfectly from both seats!

Yeah... heard there is no time to waste at Spirit or you’ll be out on the street.

How about application to interview? (With no meet & greet or job fair)

Last I heard you HAD to at least go to one job fair before they considered calling you for the phone interview/set up for in-person interview. That could of changed however.

Bummers if that's still true, too bad for me I can't make the next one. Thanks

Yeah, I wouldn’t apply if I were you.

With the new pay scale, I would think our hiring pool will be filling up.

Knob123 03-02-2018 09:33 PM

Not sure about job fairs anymore but the CPs are doing meet and greets in different cities now. Apparently the info on when and where is on fb

Slow your roll, unless we order more aircraft you've missed the window. With ~2100 guys on property you're a professional FO and furlough bait if things go bad. Just flew with a 9 month FO and he's still on reserve. No end in sight. Ouch! Fantasy camp is over, the new TA is going to change a lot of things here. Make sure you know what you're jumping into. The "2 strikes you're out" policy is in effect. If you need retrained twice, your out! AKA fired! Thanks for coming!! $1700/month during training is a crime! You don't make the $55 till you complete ~45/hrs of OE. Not because you need 45/hrs because you're cheap labor. No insurance and non rev for 90 days. Can't jumpseat till you're typed. Don't get fooled.....

Skypilotsv1984 03-03-2018 04:06 AM

That’s not entirely accurate, non-rev and jumpseat is available as soon as your background check is complete. I’m sure there will be another order, or a merger. I can’t wait to wear the JetBlue overcoat instead of the leather jacket.

Full of false facts. 9 month FO, and still on reserve? That is by choice. First quarter 2018 capacity increased 20% YOY, jard to believe a 9 month FO still on reserve. 45 hrs of OE? doubtful, unless they need it. Most, 25-30, and hit the line. Can't jumpseat? Most receive CASS first couple weeks of training, you just don't have time to go anywhere, after all you're in training. NonRev is active day one. ZED fares however, are 6 months. Lastly, to believe another aircraft order/merger is not in the NEAR future is rather shortsighted, and missinforming.

Super EZ E 03-03-2018 08:02 AM

I didn't turn on my crystal ball. I know nothing about mergers. AC orders who knows. Spirit is going to have to order something soon or the stock price will reflect that decision. The CASS is delayed till type is complete. We had a guy JS home and missed his JS back. Had to do the Carpet dance to keep his job. Easy fix, delay CASS. That was 4 plus years ago. Spirit doesn't consider you an employee till after the type. That's a FACT. With another FO today and he's 9 months here still on reserve. He wasn't happy about not holding a line anytime soon. DTW most Senior Res line is Elliot and he/she is 4/17 hire! 12 months and MAY come off reserve. Bids 75. Those are the facts. You're the only one misinforming people. The union spin about merger is just that. The union said point blank they have NO information on a merger. Pure spin so you'd vote yes.

FLYBOYMATTHEW 03-03-2018 09:49 AM

They had no information on an IPO either. You think the union is going to hear about a merger in advance, or read about it in the USA Today like everyone else?

FLYBOYMATTHEW 03-03-2018 09:51 AM

Paris Air Show is only 3 months away, I wouldn't be surprised to see an order there.

CNBC ticker will have it first. No one at Spirit cares what the "Bus Drivers" think.

They do not delay CASS until type complete. Just not true. If it once was, it’s not anymore. When I went through almost 2 years ago, everybody was CASSed about 4 weeks in. I went home on the JS the weekend before my check ride.

Somebody in DTW might be on RSV after 9 months, but that is most certainly not the case in every base. Just looked it up, most junior FO in FLL with a line in March was hired 08/01/2017. That’s 7 months from hire date, which is probably about 5 months from release to line.

Super EZ E 03-04-2018 05:12 PM

Really do you think it takes 4 weeks to CASS someone? Really? Sorry that's just not the case. They don't want to have to take you out.

The guy just pointed out that Spirit doesn't keep you out of CASS until the type ride as you claimed in the earlier post. You're right, it doesn't take 4 weeks, it took 2 weeks for everyone in our class to be in CASS

Ok, keep acting like you know what you’re talking about. I’ll be sure to disregard all future posts. People come on here for info. I just can’t get why people like you try to spread lies and misinformation. Troll

Thanks for the response.

I didn't but I had someone on the inside pinging the hiring team for me.

I also applied more than once and pursued them a bit.

The job fair I planned to chat with them was the virtual one and I made it into the chat room but everyone was gone since I was flying.

They might have seen my signup for it somehow I guess.

But essentially no job fair.
