Considering a career at Spirit

That is incorrect. Traffic and circumstances do matter. I've used it. I was 3 hours late due to traffic. The road was shut down completely. It was out of my control. I was only 10 miles from the airport at the time. Same goes for outside 50 miles if you drive to work. You fall under the commuter section of the contract. I've used that and had my trip dropped. That was due to a snow storm shut everything down (airport and roads). No harm no foul. It's actually a good idea to know the contract.

If you arrive at the jet more than 3 hrs after notification due to heavy traffic it's not a problem?

I would'd just show up 3hrs late. You have to keep them posted. I've told them to pull a reserve pilot and they've said "no just keep heading to the Airport". It's in the Commuter clause, it's not just for those who fly to work. The Company has liability if you're flying down the road doing 90mph and wreck because you'll get fired if your late. Anyone remember when Domino's had their driver issues. I'm just telling you my first hand experience. Ignore the guys on here that tell you you're fired if you're late and it's out of your control. I'm not talking about over sleeping or other possibilities, just what's happed to me. 1st I don't have a history of being late or no showing. I always call the company and tell them my location when issues pop up. I've never had a NOI or any issues. I'm sure if you're one of the what we call "10%"ers here the cross hairs are on you and the Company is looking for any issue to terminate.

I'm strongly considering Spirit as well. I'm attracted to the future growth with the new orders and recently hearing about the contract made it more attractive since it would give me a instant raise. I'm a current DFW based regional FO with 2500tt with 1,000 121. I'm still doing my research but it also appears my QOL would be a massive improvement as far as schedule. I currently fly 85-95 hours a month with 4 on 2 off.

Agreed. I really like it here. Staying for the long haul. Not many pilots leaving now unless they absolutely have dreams of Fedex, Delta, etc. Many don't even have apps in with the legacies. We make a decent living now. Only thing you risk is that the CEO is on his way out and was brought in for a specific purpose, and you know how that turned out for Airtran.
