FlightAware “Where is my plane right now”

So it appears FlightAware no longer shows inbound info for a flight. Anyone have any other app or way of retrieving this info?

Still works OK for me. For example:

Do you use the FlightAware app? I just checked it on my iPhone and the "Where is my plane right now?" function is still working.

Hmmm...yeah it looks like a problem isolated to Spirit flights I guess. We have to be the least informed pilot group when it comes to operations. Why we have no internal system is beyond me.

I prefer flight radar 24. If you still want to use FlightAware. Go to Crew Trac, under schedule service you can find the tail number of any of our flight, and put that into flightaware.

We need to have remote access to mcweb like most other operators

Try the app "FlightView." It is available on iOS, but I'm not sure about other platforms.

I think NK stopped adding tailnumber, so flightaware and FCview can't look up inbound flight. Very annoying.

Thanks...this will work until when/if they fix it.

Spirit check in app should be giving this information on the flight status page. Unfortunately it doesn’t even give gate number so we are apparently asking a lot. United app shows type of plane, gate number, and “where is my plane coming from” in the app.

I use the logbook pro app that gives me the tail number and gate info for my flights.

When it changes you get notifications of tail swaps and gate changes

I even blocked in one time in dtw and the app said my next flight was delayed. So we called ops and asked about the delay. No delay. Ops responds. Okay

Show up at the gate for the next flight. It’s delayed.

That’s pretty awesome actually. I’m stilling doing my logbook pro on a 10yr old laptop. I just can’t bring myself to pay his ridiculous subscriptions. I guess when my laptop dies that’ll be the last page of my logbook.

I’m sure your probably being facetious but you know you can back that up to somewhere like Dropbox so you don’t lose all your data? And you don’t have to pay his ridiculous fees to do so.

Qotsaautopilot 05-02-2018 04:21 AM

Yeah it’s backed up on an external. Just saying that when the computer dies I’m not going to buy a new one just for my logbook. I have zero need for a computer other than my logbook. If he had fixed price for the app I’d probably buy it but a monthly or yearly payment bothers me.

Yeah I’ve contemplated making the switch to MC Pilot or whatever that software is called. It’s supposed to have similar functionality to Logbook Pro for a one time (like $80) fee.

Love MCC pilotlog-
Have used it for over 2 years now and wish I would have stopped paying ridiculous fees long before that.

+1 for MCC Pilot Log. Little bit of a learning curve but it’s great.

symbian simian 05-02-2018 06:14 PM

Tail number and inbound info back on FC view & FlightAware

Qotsaautopilot 05-02-2018 06:19 PM

Great info thanks. I’m going to look into this MCC log
