Usually a few months to hold DFW. It took me 6 months to hold a line once I made it back to Dallas. Reserve wasn’t bad. I usually flew every RAP, but also had 3-4 paid days off at home because there were no trips marching my time available. R3 can be a little rough. You can usually spot your trip coming in open time a week out, but the surprise phone calls for maintenance repos etc. aren’t much fun.

Reserve if you live in base can be not bad all the way to desirable. It’s not for everyone but we do have quite a few reserves that are senior enough to hold lines. Similar to most major airlines. It’s not anything like regional reserve if that’s where you’re coming from.

DFW June awards, out of 133 lines total 3 senior people bidding reserve, then relief then rest of reserve (20 lines), most senior involuntary reserve DOH Sep17, most senior involuntary relief Aug17.
Reserve: 12 days off, no pickup, some drop/trade, starts at 3am, 8am or 11am. or long call 14 hr callout. NO airport apreciation.
Relief: 15 days off, pickup/drop/trade allowed, don't know what you get
Hard: average 14 days off, pickup/drop/trade allowed, no reserve days

I had R19 for two months in ACY and FLL, 5 months of R3 in Dallas, one month on a relief line and then I held a line. Your mileage may very.
