Yep, applied the first week of the month. Went to OBAP on the 17th. Received a call on 22nd. I interview next month. 2500tt, 1000 121 SIC, no 121 PIC, no degree.

That's interesting. I went to their job fair over the winter. More time than you and a 4 year degree and an internal. They told me to go screw myself. Maybe I didn't pass that gallup assessment, just like I failed United's Hogan.

You should have told them you failed the hogan. (No offense to all the more qualified people, but I really feel me not having a 4 year helped me get on at NK)

That, or you are insufferable, NK has done a great job keeping the undesirables of the property.....

Because people who have a degree are not desirable to work with or because lack of a degree make you less of a flight risk (no pun intended)?

That said I know a few people personally who were hired in the last few months with 4K+ hours and a degree so it can't always be blamed on being overqualified.

I was hired at 4k, 800 121 pic, 4 year degree, no accidents incidents or tickets (last 10 years for tickets).

I was one of the least experienced in my class. (i'd say my experience level was 3/10 in the class

the whole "overqualified" is kind of nonsense.

To all of you that have interviewed or been hired lately, what was your success with the online application?

I have had nothing but problems trying to get past the first page of work history. It never gets to an ending screen, just keeps going and going. Basically all I've been able to do is get my current job on there 4 times. Can't update it at all.

I also went to OBAP in August specifically to meet with Spirit and spoke with the recruiter and gave her a resume (forgot her name if you can remind me).

She told me you have to have an updated browser, etc. I've tried different browsers, all updated, with no success. So I am wondering if the messed up online app is keeping me from getting called? It does show me to have an app in the system.

While at OBAP, I met a Captain there who seemed pretty awesome. Former Navy non-flier who did it all on his own. Very nice guy.

I have been flying for a regional for a few months after a VERY long hiatus from flying after 9/11. The female recruiter (remind me of her name, please) seemed a little hesitant with my low recent time.

I really think Spirit is a great company for me long-term. Prior military fixed-wing, about 2200TT, 1000 Part 121, 500 121 PIC. Almost all multi-turbine, 4-year degree.

I hope they don't view me as a flight-risk, as I have no misgivings about ever making it to widebody captain in the time I have left in the industry, about 15 years. I am a NB guy for life and would love to be at Spirt, especially living in one of the bases.

If anyone can put me in touch with the recruiter or that Captain I met, I would very grateful.

keep trying and keep flying, you are fairly low time. Although some have been hired as low as you the avg TT is probably closer to 4000-6000tt

@crownevic

I am currently in training right now. I did not have any issues with the application process but I've been told by others that doing all the application and gallup within a day or two leads to success but that is total speculation. With the new contract they have plenty of candidates and the least experienced person in our class has at least 2 years regional jet PIC time or about 10 years commercial flight experience with no breaks.

I would just keep applying and flying like you are doing and hopefully you will hear something back soon when you get a little more time under your belt.

Also I have heard that they have filled up classes through Jan right now so they are probably holding off until they need to bring in more later in the year. But thats just speculation.

Best of Luck!
