Upgrades

Shouldn’t we update the APC page to read 3 a month?

I think so

Hopefully it picks up soon. Looking at the fleet plan we are supposed to add 13 airframes in Q4 2018 and Q1 2019 combined.
That's about 11% growth in 6 months

Back to every week guys. 40 new hires a month. 10 per week.

Some other good changes. We did get approval for FOs to do all flying in the right seat for training except for the type they need to taxi and a rejected takeoff from the left. Believe that's starting with the class from August 25th

You probably saw the emails go out looking for instructors. We brought in another 35 I believe. Mostly line check airmen. Another sim in FLL soon, number 10. Looking at another FTD like the one in DFW but for FLL and maybe some other stuff.

EET training (enhanced envelope training) will be starting soon. Will make new hires got to 5 sims and upgrades go to 4. AQP is now in phase 2, don't ask how many phases there are because I don't know but shooting for end of next year.

Thanks for the update! How about upgrade numbers in the winter? Is it going to pick back up? This 3 a month thing is getting old. Need off reserve...

I’ve given up that dream after two years......

For what it's worth, F9 is experiencing the same thing. Lots of new hires but hardly any upgrades. (Zero in the last staffing adjustment) Recruiters are telling pilots that upgrades are 3 years and we will more than double in pilots over the next 6 years, actually close to triple. Do the math..
We are supposed to be taking new planes this next year and management is almost non-existent. Crickets.

I’m guessing a commuter. Can’t hold a line in another base?

You got it. I thought when I upgraded the big monthly upgrade numbers would continue and I’d be able to hold my base and sit reserve at home relatively quickly. I was wrong...

Oh I see. Can’t hold the base you live in. Yeah that sucks. I didn’t know that was still happening. I guess only FLL people were the complainers.

Last numbers I heard were an average of 60 trained per month. 40 new hires and 20 upgrades. That's probably a month old though. I'd expect to see the numbers go back up.

of course they're going to come back up, we're getting 13 planes in the next 6 months alone. not to mention in the next 39 months we have about 50 planes to go

Saw the new sim in DFW that is certified for the enhanced envelope. Is that the only one or are FLL and LAS going to get the enhanced envelope sim as well?

They will all be modified over the next 6-8 months to have the EET.

I have the schedule somewhere but I think FLL is first, then LAS and then the remaining DFW sims.

Found it. LAS is December and January. FLL is January and February and DFW February and March.

The new FLL sim 10 that's going in soon will have it already installed.

Hey guys. Not applying, happy where I’m at. Thanks again and again for the js. You have been fantastic and I’m grateful for the rides. Gate agents, cockpit and cabin crew have been friendly and gone out of their way for me. Thanks again!
