Ahhhh, effective training at work.
Why give the student 3-4 “up and downs” a day to get repetition down? Nah, let’s put him on a 7.5 LGA block so we can sit in cruise for 3 hours each way and work that folder and talk about their old regional. Super effective! Starting to make sense why a basic visual approach seems to be difficult for guys out of IOE, probably because they have done only a few. Or because they’re teaching visual approaches a horrible way. |
We were taught visual approaches?

I vaguely remember being scolded for flying less than 250 on downwind after a V1 cut.
Hurry up so I can get in another double! Plane Coffee |

I agree with that. There should be more hands on flying and more landings. I was just commenting that training perspective is different than ours and not in a good way.

Best instructor I had at NK, admitted to me in private:
"At NK we don't train, we check" He called it the Checking department! So true... |
