Or because they’re teaching visual approaches a horrible way.

I vaguely remember being scolded for flying less than 250 on downwind after a V1 cut.

I agree with that. There should be more hands on flying and more landings. I was just commenting that training perspective is different than ours and not in a good way.

Yup agree. Seems the motto is; “Get em in, get em out, let the line pilots straighten them out”

Best instructor I had at NK, admitted to me in private:

"At NK we don't train, we check"
He called it the Checking department!
